As I get older, I too am fighting to age graciously, stay active and enjoy my life. We all are in the same boat wondering how to accomplish this.
One of my very favorite female stars is Cher. I grew up watching the Sonny and Cher show each week, her movies and concerts on television. I always wanted to see her in concert live and finally I did this last Saturday night in Kansas City, Missouri. Sprint was packed!
As you know, Cher is an American singer and actress who is recognized for having brought the sense of female autonomy and self-actualization into the entertainment industry. She is known for her distinctive contralto singing voice and for having worked in various areas of entertainment, as well as continuously reinventing both her music and image, which has led to her being nicknamed the Goddess of Pop. Cher is not shy about putting herself on pedestals, and during Saturday’s lavish show inside a nearly sold-out Sprint Center, she justified her eminence with a 95-minute spectacle that showcased her career in music, television and film and showed off her physical endurance, which is still impressive, especially for a 68-year-old! She is still the epitome of beauty, self-esteem, and her own remarkable identity and presence. She joked about being 68 and that this would absolutely be her last tour — we definitely hope not. She joked saying, “What’s your grandmother doing?” I honestly don’t know many grandmothers who look as good as she does and is as active. I am not a grandmother, but at 62, I certainly do not look as good as she does. She is unbelievably beautiful, incredibly athletic and definitely her own woman.
I absolutely love her and wanted to use her as an example for making a strong point that even though we may never look as good as she does (and I had binoculars) or be as active at 68 as she is, we can still strive to be the best we can in all facets of life! We all know the importance of eating right, taking the right vitamin supplements such as Vitalizer Gold, Vivix, staying away from fast food, exercising and enjoying life, but we don’t necessarily do it continuously. My goal from now on is to be more like Cher and be a better person both mentally, healthy and physically.
